Our littlest boy turned one year today and for him, we're sure it was just another fun day where he was surrounded by love and fun without a care in the world - the way it should be! Mommy and daddy couldn't stop thinking about what we were going through exactly 365 days ago, with new anxieties and fears to face as our newest arrival was wheeled off into the NICU. And we couldn't stop reflecting on the incredible year since, and all of the joy that Jason brings our family.
At one, he has turned into quite the social creature. He waves 'hi' and 'goodbye' with the cutest little wave, often delayed by five or more seconds (so only the person staying with him often gets to see the gesture). Jason also has an infectious giggle and speaks in a language all his own - Angel has taken to calling him, "meep morp", because that's pretty much what he sounds like! And, just over the last few days, he has invented a game where he puts a shoe (any shoe, even boots) on one of his hands and crawls around with it, using it for traction! (See the picture below with his hand in one of Danny's crocs.) A pure goofball with a great sense of humor. He's not walking yet, but he doesn't have to - his crawling takes on new improvisational forms all the time, and he sometimes looks like he's trying out for a part in the next Spider-Man movie!
Jason ponders the mystical properties of the number "one".
