Every January we head down to St Pete's beach for the annual Psychology convention. During the day, David was attending workshops and presenting his research, while Danny and Mommy had their run of the resort!
The weather was absolutely gorgeous! It was sunny and warm every day, but not too hot to enjoy the beach and pool.
Danny had just mastered walking in shoes, and loved running around the resort in his "big boy" sandals.
We met up with some friends who also attend every year, and the kids had a blast playing with each other.
Danny is like a little fish in the water, so he hopped right in to the pool and started splashing around.

He was fearless when it came to the ocean- it took him about 30 seconds to get over the fear of the waves coming at him, and after that he giggled and ran from them.
Mommy and Daddy both took turns swimming in the ocean with him, and he would laugh every time a wave jumped up and splashed us.
On the beach we made a sandcastle. Danny was a big help- helped to pack the dirt and pour the water in the bucket, and even decided to see if the sand tasted as good as it looked!
Our "Castle Biek" turned out really well, but Daniel decided to sit on it as we were adding the finishing touches!

The best part of the trip was the dolphin boat tour. We all headed out on a speedboat on the waterway around St Pete beach to see the sites. The mansions on the beach were beautiful. We were on a speed boat, so we had a great time speeding on the water. Luckily we were in the front of the boat, because the people in the back got soaked!
We also saw the most amazing dolphin acrobatics! The captain of the boat made a large wake for the dolphins to play in, and they came right away.

There were three beautiful dolphins all in a row jumping together right behind the boat!

It was too much excitement for all of the babies- all three fell asleep on the ride back!
We also headed off resort to DeSoto State Beach, which was rated the top American beach of 2005. The smooth sand was made up of millions of crushed shells.
Mommy and Danny went sea shell collecting along the beach, and brought back a whole bottle full of beautiful shells.

Daniel took his collecting VERY seriously, and would only allow the most beautiful and perfect shells in his bottle.
We returned home to Geogia suntanned and exhausted- but were thankful that this year we didn't have to battle the snow and cold when we got home!
