Every year, on the day after Thanksgiving, we put up our Christmas tree. This year, of course, is our first in Georgia, so we were unsure of where people got their Christmas trees this far South. We found a tree farm about 15 miles outside of Macon and spent a good hour hunting for just the right tree. It was bright sun and 70 degrees out - a big contrast to last year's freezing temperatures and fresh snowfall back in Rochester.

Danny was a big help picking out the tree!

Hmmm...prickly! I want this one!
Danny and Mommy left the actual hauling part to Daddy.

We picked a 9 foot tree, which fit perfectly in the sun room!

He was also a big help putting up (and taking down) ornaments. This is going to be Danny's second Christmas already! He's getting to be such a big boy! It will be Mommy and Daddy's 12th Christmas together.

Nearly every ornament on our tree is special - a dozen or so are ornaments dating back to David's infancy (including one purchased the Christmas before he was born). We also have one ornament from Angel's first Christmas, when she was just 5 days from being born! The rest of the ornaments are reminders of various trips we've taken or of cultural places back home in Rochester. This year, it felt good to have these reminders of home as we placed them on the tree.
Happy Holidays to everyone!

Your tree looks wonderful! We used to put up our tree the day after thanksgiving but Katie is terribly allergic to all Christmas trees. She gets huge shinners around her eyes. Now we put up a live tree about a week before Christmas. Oh well! I'm more of a snowman girl anyway. My husband is suprised when I take the snowmen down before march. Not often!
