MORE Birthday Goodies!?

This morning it was like Christmas when the mailman came. Danny got FIVE birthday cards from friends and family back in Rochester and here in Macon.

He got a McDonald's gift card to buy his favorite treats- Apple Dippers. I really try to stay away from fast food, so when we grab food on the go it's always McDonald's fruit and yogurt and apples. For those of you without toddlers, Apple Dippers are cut up slices of apples in a pouch. They also come with caramel dipping sauce, but we never use the sauce (why ruin nature's perfect food by covering it with sugar? This coming from the Mommy who is addicted to sweets- I'm trying to keep Daniel from developing my insatiable sweet tooth)

Most kids start yelling for Happy meals with soda and fries when they see the golden arches- my kid starts chanting "Appla-das! Appla-das!" It was a little embarrassing last time I went through the bank's drive-up window, and Danny was in the back seat, chanting for apples from the teller! So Grandma and Grandpa, we'll be thinking of you next time we order Appla-das.

The mail also contained a love note from Foof, with a package of personalized stickers. Danny LOVES stickers! Whenever we go to Kroger he insists on four stickers- one for each arm and leg. Last time we went to the post office, he covered himself with Priority mail stickers. These stickers aren't meant for skin, and the adhesive is really strong on them. Poor baby had blue sticker residue all over his body for a week! Now Mommy carries extra "skin friendly" stickers in her purse.

If that wasn't enough for one day, then the UPS man came! Danny is infatuated with trucks, buses and planes. He hangs out in the front sun room and looks out across the church property to watch the traffic go by. Pio Nono is a major road, so we get to see ambulances, fire trucks, school buses, motorcycles, and all sorts of trucks. One time a cement mixer stopped right in his line of sight, and I thought he'd have a heart attack! So a delivery truck pulling up in front of our house makes his day!

The UPS driver had a box addressed to "Master Daniel Biek." Inside the box was a big red gift bag from Target! Daniel was VERY interested, and excitedly opened up his Elmo backpack from the Kasprzyks! (Gee...how did you know he's obsessed with Elmo!?) He's been wheeling it around the house and singing the Elmo song (la, la, la, la...) all evening! Thanks so much, guys! Elmo is a BIG hit!

Notice the attire- shirt and shorts by Mommy, rain boots by Daniel. Hey-at least they match! He put them on himself, and they are actually on the right feet today!
