We took a daytrip to Stone Mountain, which is a suburb of Atlanta. It only took us 65 minutes to get there! To see where exactly Stone Mountain is, check out the location on Google Maps. Click on the satellite view also (and zoom in) to see how out-of-place Stone Mountain actually looks relative to the rest of Atlanta (and Georgia).

Daniel had never been on the top of a mountain before, so we strapped him on and headed up! (The Biek men are notorious for their mountain climbs. Our nephew Andrew once told me his favorite part of hiking to the top is peeing off the side! This is NOT done around the Biek women!)

Since the Adirondaks are the only mountains I've ever climbed, I was expecting something a little greener when we arrived. This looks more like the moon than a mountain!

Danny is just mastering walking, so of course he wanted to try it. The top of the mountain was pretty uneven, so Daddy gave little man a hand.

Mommy actually relinquished her camera for a minute to snap a picture with Dan.

All aboard the Pumpkin Express!
We also went on the Stone Mountain Railroad - a 5-mile long ride around the base of Stone Mountain. Danny was just thrilled the entire time. He was looking at everything and pointing out birds.
Checking out the scenery
Danny was so excited to ride the train, we had to make sure to keep both hands on him or he would have jumped out!
Check out this short video of Danny enjoying the ride!
